I learned to knit only recently, many years after learning to sew and embroider. I resisted for a long time, feeling that I knew enough crafts and that many available patterns were too dowdy to be of interest. Some of my friends started knitting, however, especially my sister-in-law, and I was impressed enough by their projects that I wanted to learn.

Knitwear didn't become really popular as fashion until the early 20th-century, but I have managed to undertake some projects in a vintage style.
